6) Use of customer data for direct advertising

6.1 Registration for our e-mail newsletter

If you register for our e-mail newsletter, we will send you regular information about our offers. Obligatory information for the transmission of the newsletter is only your e-mail address. The indication of further data is voluntary and is used to be able to address you personally. For the dispatch of the newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will not send you an e-mail newsletter until you have expressly confirmed that you agree to receive newsletters. We will then send you a confirmation e-mail asking you to click on a link to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter.

By activating the confirmation link, you give us your consent for the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address entered by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to trace possible misuse of your e-mail address at a later date. The data collected by us when you register for the newsletter will be used exclusively for the purpose of advertising in the newsletter. If you have initially objected to the use of your e-mail address for this purpose, we will not send you an e-mail. You are entitled to object to the use of your e-mail address for the above-mentioned advertising purpose at any time with effect for the future by notifying the person responsible named at the beginning of this document. 6.3 Newsletter dispatch via rapidmail
Our e-mail newsletters are sent via the technical service provider rapidmail GmbH, Augustinerplatz 2, 79098 Freiburg, Germany („rapidmail “), to whom we pass on the data provided by you in the newsletter registration. This forwarding is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and serves our legitimate interest in the use of an effective, secure and user-friendly newsletter system. The data you enter to subscribe to the newsletter (e.g. e-mail address) will be stored on the servers of rapidmail in Germany.

rapidmail uses this information for the dispatch and statistical evaluation of the newsletter on our behalf. For the evaluation, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which are one-pixel image files stored on our website. In this way it can be determined whether a newsletter message was opened and which links were clicked on, if applicable. Conversion tracking can also be used to analyse whether a predefined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) was carried out after clicking on the link in the newsletter. In addition, technical information is collected (e.g. time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system). The data is only collected pseudonymously and is not linked to your other personal data, a direct personal reference is excluded. This data is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you wish to contradict the data analysis for statistical evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

We have concluded a contract processing agreement with rapidmail in which we oblige rapidmail to protect the data of our customers and not to pass them on to third parties.

7) Use of social media: videos

Use of Youtube videos

This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos from the provider „Youtube“, which belongs to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland („Google“)

The extended data protection mode is used here, which, according to the provider, only starts storing user information when the video(s) are played. If the playback of embedded YouTube videos is started, the provider uses cookies to collect information about user behavior. According to information from „Youtube“ these serve, among other things, to collect video statistics, to improve user-friendliness and to prevent abusive behaviour. If you are logged in to Google, your information is associated directly with your account when you click on a video. If you do not wish to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google saves your data (even for users who are not logged in) as user profiles and evaluates them. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO on the basis of Google's legitimate interests in the display of personalised advertising, market research and/or needs-based design of its website. You have a right of objection to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube to exercise this right. In the context of the use of YouTube it can also come to a transfer of personal data to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA. Independently of any playback of the embedded videos, a connection to the Google network is established each time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing operations without our influence.

For further information on data protection at „YouTube“ please refer to the data protection declaration of the provider at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

8) Online marketing

Facebook pixels for the creation of custom audiences with extended data synchronization (with Cookie-Consent-Tool)
Within our online offer the so-called "Facebook-Pixel" of the social network Facebook is used in the mode of extended data synchronization, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Quare, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook“).
On the basis of his or her express consent, when a user clicks on an advertisement displayed on Facebook and placed by us, the URL of our linked page is added by Facebook pixels. After being forwarded to the user's browser, this URL parameter is then written into the user's browser by a cookie that sets our linked page itself. In addition, this cookie records specific customer data such as the e-mail address, which we use on our website linked to the Facebook display for transactions such as purchase transactions, account logins or registrations (extended data comparison). The cookie is then read by Facebook Pixel and enables the data, including specific customer data, to be forwarded to Facebook. With the help of the Facebook pixel with extended data synchronization, Facebook is able to determine the visitors of our online offer as a target group for the presentation of ads (so-called Facebook Ads quota). Accordingly, we use the Facebook pixel with extended data comparison in order to display the Facebook ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our online offer or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the visited websites), which we transmit to Facebook (so-called custom audiences). With the help of the Facebook pixel with extended data matching, we also want to ensure that our Facebook Ads correspond to the potential interest of the users and do not have an annoying effect. This allows us to further evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook Ads for statistical and market research purposes by tracking whether users have been redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called "conversion"). Compared to the standard version of Facebook Pixel, the advanced data reconciliation feature helps us better measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns by capturing more assigned conversions.
All transmitted data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Guidelines (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). The data can enable Facebook and its partners to place advertisements on and outside of Facebook. These processing operations shall only be carried out with the express consent of the person concerned; Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
Consent to use the Facebook Pixel may only be given by users who are over 13 years old. If you are younger, please ask your parent or guardian for permission. The information generated by Facebook is usually transferred to a Facebook server and stored there, this may also involve a transfer to the servers of Facebook Inc. in the USA. You can revoke your given consent at any time with effect for the future. In order to exercise your revocation, remove the check mark next to the setting for the Facebook Pixel (in the Cookie-Consent-Tool) integrated on the website.
