What is performance capability?
Performance capacity refers to the prerequisite or the ability to perform a task over a long period of time. A distinction is made between mental and physical performance capacity.
Physical and mental performance varies from person to person and cannot be represented by a uniform measure. Comparison is only possible within individual disciplines based on strict definitions (e.g., speed over 100 m).
When performance refers to what can be productively achieved within a company, it is called operational performance. In this case, the English terms performance , capacity , or efficiency are also frequently used.
What does cognitive performance mean?
The brain's performance and effectiveness are called cognitive performance or mental performance. How much and how effectively a brain performs is measured, among other things, through intelligence tests and represented by an IQ score. Even though many people believe intelligence is innate, cognitive training can improve a person's intellectual performance. Numerous studies also show that a brain that is well-perfused and adequately supplied with oxygen is more efficient.
What is physical performance?
Although physical performance literally describes a person's physical resilience in certain situations, it is not only important for athletes.
Of course, it's about physical endurance, flexibility, strength, speed, and good coordination. This also includes motor skills such as hand-eye coordination – skills that are needed every day.
Concentration can be improved through ergonomic office furniture that allows for plenty of movement, such as the Aeris Active Desk and Aeris Swopper.
Most of us know how to improve athletic or physical performance.
Endurance can be trained, as can speed or strength.
In fact, mental performance can also be trained and improved. A professional environment in which employees feel comfortable can contribute to increased employee productivity and thus to overall company performance.
Besides a positive work environment, such an environment is characterized by ergonomically designed workstations. It's a fact that employees who are healthy and free of physical ailments are generally more productive.
Those who have the opportunity to move around at their workplace or to sit in a dynamic way demonstrably have less back pain and tension, are physically healthier and fitter, and have a greater sense of well-being, which ultimately leads to higher performance.
Improved performance through correct sitting and standing
The Aeris Swopper active office chair has revolutionized the workplace in terms of cognitive and physical performance. Thanks to its patented 3D technology, dynamic sitting and frequent changes of position are both encouraged and promoted.
Abdominal and back muscles are strengthened, and one-sided strain and thus tension are reduced.
Studies have shown that exercise also improves blood circulation and oxygen supply to the brain. This makes employees significantly more productive, not only physically but also mentally.
Similar to prolonged sitting, working while standing on hard floors is strenuous for the body. Prolonged standing leads to leg fatigue, foot pain, and strain on the joints. This impairs well-being and performance.
The Aeris Muvmat standing mat counteracts this.
Its topographic 3D structure inside the standing mat activates the foot reflex zones, relaxes the muscles, and keeps the body moving. This promotes blood circulation and oxygen supply to the brain. This, in turn, helps to increase concentration and attention.
Aeris Muvmat has been proven to increase performance.
A study on working on the Aeris Muvmat at the University of Mainz confirms the strong positive effects of the standing mat on mental and physical performance.
Based on the study results, the Aeris Muvmat is recommended for use "in everyday work to increase cognitive performance, subjective well-being and to promote health".
The Aeris Muvmat is also suitable for therapeutic use in cases of problems such as gait disorders, lack of concentration, or disturbances in the synchronization of both hemispheres of the brain.
